Access alumni develop training for English teachers in Sololá

The Language Center of Universidad del Valle de Guatemala initiated an alliance with the Departmental Direction of the Ministry of Education to give courses and workshops of English for academic teachers in Sololá, developed by alumni of the English Access Microscholarship Program.

For the 144 teachers who are fluent in English, a series of training sessions are taking place in which they receive strategies for teaching English, and an English language program is developed in which 64 teachers are improving their level of language proficiency.

Former Access scholars, now members of the SEAL (Service Learning, English Usage, Alumni Engagement, Leadership) program supported by the U.S. Department of State, carry out their practices as teachers of English and contribute to the development of teachers and educational level of the department of Sololá.
