Ambassador Arreaga participated in Peace Corps swearing-in ceremony

In the framework of the 55th anniversary of Peace Corps in Guatemala, Ambassador Luis Arreaga participated in the swearing-in ceremony of 40 new volunteers. They join the more than 5,000 Americans who have served in Guatemala since 1963 to contribute to the country’s development.

The core values of Peace Corps lie in the U.S. spirit of community service, hard work, and dedication to make a positive difference in the countries. The new volunteers will travel to communities located in the Altiplano, where they will live for 2 years learning and working together with Guatemalans in health, youth, and food security programs.
