INL and the Ministry of Social Welfare signed an agreement to implement the Juvenile Justice project

The director of US Dept, of State INL in Guatemala and the Ministry of Social Welfare signed an agreement to implement the Juvenile Justice project, which includes the creation of five regional offices, the first specialized center for the reintegration of young people and a transition house.

This project seeks to eliminate overcrowding in juvenile detention centers and reduce recidivism to contribute to citizen security.

Our support through INL to the Secretary of Social Welfare is an effort to increase the use of socio-educational measures, offer a second chance of life to young people and achieve safer communities.
