Presentation of USAID’s STEAM Truck Mobile Laboratory Project

A mobile laboratory project called “STEAM Truck”, a truck specialized in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (Science, Technology, Engineering and Art and Mathematics) was presented at USAID Guatemala’s facilities.
The project proposes a mechanism to increase the interest of students in these disciplines and increase the number of degrees in higher education in those branches, to positively impact the competitiveness of Guatemala. STEAM Truck will make visits to different educational centers in the country, where students can experiment with projects and practices that allow them to know about recycling, alternative energy production, water treatment analysis, among other topics.
The initiative works in conjunction with Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, which received USAID’s American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) award.
