Reminder – Passport services and Town Hall Meeting in Panajachel

To further assist U.S. citizens in Guatemala, the U.S. Embassy will hold a Town Hall Meeting and will accept passport renewal applications in Panajachel, on February 23rd   

Please schedule an appointment if you live in or near this area and wish to take the opportunity to submit an application for a passport renewal.  You may schedule appointments by calling the American Citizen Services unit at 2326-4942.

Passport renewals are the only services that will be provided during the visits.  We will only be able to provide general visa information during the Town Halls.  Specific visa inquiries should be submitted to

Please review carefully the information on the specific requirements and forms on our website:  All of our consular services are available by appointment at the Embassy in Guatemala City should you be unable to attend the scheduled events.  As a reminder, some passport applicants may be required to submit additional documentation or appear at the U.S. Embassy after their appointments.

Delivery: we will provide a slip for Cargo Expreso or GuatEx service, if you require their mailing service (this service has an additional cost that you will need to pay to the courier company when picking up the passport). 

*Again, please remember to bring all required forms as listed on the U.S. Embassy website as well as the required photocopies since we won’t be able to make copies for you*
