The U.S. Embassy remains open and operational, but has canceled all routine appointments for Monday, October 16th. This includes appointments for American Citizens Services (ACS), including passports, CRBAs, and notarials, and immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments .
Only those applicants with approved and confirmed emergency appointments for ACS and visa services will be admitted to the embassy on the date of their emergency appointment.
U.S. citizens who need an urgent appointment can contact AmCitsGuatemala@state.gov. To reschedule a passport or notarial appointment, U.S. citizens must visit https://gt.usembassy.gov/appointments/. The ACS unit will contact CRBA appointment holders to reschedule their appointments.
For nonimmigrant visa applicants with emergencies, please follow the instructions for requesting an emergency appointment at https://www.ustraveldocs.com/gt/en/expedited-appointment.
For in-person nonimmigrant visa appointments scheduled for October 16th, a new appointment date has been sent to the email address registered in the applicant’s ustraveldocs.com profile and via SMS. You can also check your profile to see your new appointment date.
If visa renewal applicants are unable to reach their local Cargo Expreso location, or found it closed on the interview waiver drop-off appointment, applications may be dropped off any business day until November 30, 2023 by showing the appointment confirmation page.
Applicants with immigrant visa appointments will be contacted via email with appointment rescheduling information.
