U.S. Congressional Commission meets with Guatemalan civil society

Representatives from various civil society organizations, including young leaders, held a meeting with the House Democracy Partnership. At the meeting, the commission highlighted the work of civil society organizations to promote transparency and strengthen the fight against corruption and impunity.

Civil society organizations are the voice of citizens and representatives of the common good. Citizen participation is essential for the success of transparency initiatives, accountability, access to information and anti-corruption efforts that translate into good governance and prosperity.

The delegation applauds the achievements and continued work of young leaders who have taken on their responsibility to face current challenges, play an active role in the fight against corruption and impunity and take action to maintain a constant government supervision to ensure good governance.
