U.S. Congressional Delegation to Travel to Guatemala

Senator Thomas Carper (D-DE), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, will lead a bipartisan delegation, composed of Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Congressmen Adrian Smith (R-NE), Dan Kildee (D-MI), Don Beyer (D-VA), and Jerry Carl (R-AL), which will travel to Guatemala from Tuesday, February 21, to Thursday, February 23, 2023.  The group of six Senators and Congressmen will arrive in Guatemala to meet with representatives of the Guatemalan Government, private sector, and civil society, to address issues of bilateral cooperation, investment promotion, economic growth opportunities as alternatives to irregular migration, strengthening democracy and advancing prosperity, security, and governance in both countries.
