U.S. Social Security Services and other Federal Benefits, Guatemala – August 8-12, 2022
The U.S. Embassy in Guatemala is pleased to announce that representatives from the Regional Federal Benefits Unit will visit Guatemala City to offer services for beneficiaries and individuals with questions about U.S. Social Security and other federal benefits.
Where: INGUAT (Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo) Building – 7a. Ave. 1-17, Zone 4 – First Floor
When: August 8, 9, 10, and 11, from 8 am to 4 pm, and August 12 (Friday), from 8 am to 1:30 pm.
Walk-in Services – No appointment necessary, BUT PLEASE BE PREPARED TO WAIT.
WHAT TO BRING FOR SOCIAL SECURITY SERVICES (please bring originals and legible copies of all documents to be submitted):
Applying for Social Security Benefits: Bring originals and copies of the following for all applicants: birth certificate and passport. If applying for auxiliary benefits or survivor’s benefits, bring marriage and/or death certificates.
Social Security Number Card Application: Bring a copy of your valid U.S. passport, Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA), or original birth certificate AND completed form SS-5FS.
Change of Address for Social Security: Bring your current passport.
Medicare Part B Enrollment/Cancellation: To enroll in Medicare, complete and sign the CMS-40B. To cancel your enrollment, please complete and sign the CMS-1763.
